A soulful Golden Retriever who liked people more than dogs. H quickly became more than a pet; he was our kid. He had a humanlike calm, an easygoing spirit, and went along with all my wild ideas. One Halloween, I tried to find him a costume for a local Howl-O-Ween contest and realized just how limited the options were. Every XXL was laughably too small. So, I improvised: jeans from the boys’ section, a white tee, suspenders, and a plastic hard hat. Boston became the best-dressed construction worker on four legs, and from that point on, if he was going to wear something, I had to make it.

Years later, we added three more Goldens, Lucia, Franklin and Frannie. I found a chic, stylish dog outfit online and thought, finally! But when I checked the size chart, I was right back at square one. XXL stopped at 60 pounds. Again, nothing for the big kids. That was the moment I thought, what if it’s time for a change.

I set out to build what I couldn’t find: high-quality, minimalist, movement-friendly apparel made just for large dogs. I researched breed dimensions, partnered with ethical manufacturers, and tested every piece on real dogs. I envisioned a space where you could find beautiful, functional essentials that look as good in your home as they do on your dog, and that vision became Folto Paws.
